Collection of surplus books, eg from libraries, to be sold online. For every book bought another is donated to someone who needs it, in addition to raising funds for organisations working on literacy.

Since 2003, in its 11 years of existence it has achieved: 

  • Books donated: more than 12 million.
  • Funds raised for literacy and libraries: more than US$16 million, for more than 80 organisations worldwide.
  • Books reused or recycled: more than 132 million.
  • In the process, it has prevented more than 73,000 tons of books ending up in a landfill.
