Committee for Democracy in Information Technology (CDI)

A movement to give young people from disadvantaged communities training in digital skills and thus increase their job opportunities and incorporation into contemporary society. The CDI communities are informal technological education spaces, also providing education in citizenship and entrepreneurship, and take place under the umbrella of partner institutions within communities.

Impact indicators
  • In 2012, the network of CDI communities trained 92,084 students, and had 1,007 teachers trained in this methodology.
  • Currently, the initiative has 780 digital inclusion spaces in Brazil and 12 other countries.
