The Working World

A capacity building and microcredit programme for entrepreneurs and cooperatives in low income communities to help develop and finance their enterprises. The programme provides technical assistance, access to credit and training to help support the creation and scaling of the cooperative businesses.

Impact indicators


  • Since 2004, The Working World has supported more than 800 projects with over 200 cooperative businesses. 

  • It has loaned more than $4 million and created hundreds of jobs.  

  • The goal is to reach $20 million by 2020.  



  • 98% debt repayment.
