Upgrading Social Innovation 2018

11.07.2018

We are celebrating our eighth anniversary and on each anniversary we try to share what we have learned by being constantly exposed to innovations from all over the world and in very diverse fields.

It is very stimulating to discover what works and what is generating a great impact, and also to understand and learn from what stops working. In addition, there is much to celebrate for what has been achieved among all of us actors who participate in one way or another in this social innovation ecosystem. For this reason, we want to take a step back from the tyranny of everyday life to focus on the lessons learned during these years and the questions that arise in our work.

Here we share a short publication that summarises eight lessons as topics that we can start working on together to strengthen the social innovation ecosystem. Because one of our lessons is precisely that innovation can come from accidental, organic or random processes, but it can also be an organised process, thanks to a conductive and fertile ecosystem.

With this same idea, in May 2018, we gathered a group of people and organisations in Barcelona, who promote social innovation from different spheres and with different strategies, to start exploring what we can do together from four topics of debate. To all of them, thank you very much for the co-created ideas, which we also include in the publication.

Please let us know if you would like to be kept up to date on the advances in these ideas or to become more actively involved in their development.
